I’m still not quite sure why these kids are tied to the ceiling. Or, for that matter, why their arms aren’t hanging down. If you’re impressed with the doorknob, that’s because I used Illustrator’s new 3D effect to make it.

Hey, who doesn’t need a little blood spatter in their drawings?

Here’s a quick way to make blood/paint spatter using Illustrator. Select the ‘Star’ tool (a heretofore relatively useless tool).

Start drawing out a star, but make sure you don’t let go until you do the next two things:

Illustrator: Hand-drawn Look

Looking for that ‘hand-drawn’ look?
Try converting your stroke to an outline. In the ‘Object’ menu, select PATH>OUTLINE STROKE. Now, use the direct select tool (white arrow) to move the stroke outline’s points in different directions. Don’t forget to pull on those bezier handles. This technique works best with thick strokes. Too easy!
