Free Partitioning Software

8/30/2005

Finally, what looks like a great free alternative for moving, making, and deleting partitions. I’ve always hated having to buy partitioning software because of the limited amount of use you get. I always end up wondering how many times I will have to partition my hard drive to get my $60 worth.

Just don’t blame me if you hose your drive.

Sweet,

I’ve got a test Server that I can try this on…hopefully it will break on management will actually shell out some cash for a new system.

Seriously though, thanks for the tip, it beats the cost of any commerical option.

I always use QTParted, don’t think it supports hfs+ though

This program doesn’t support hfs+ either. In fact, it doesn’t support anything but DOS style partitions. Check out the limitations. Every single one of them is something QTParted can do.

QT Parted comes on knoppix boot CDs so it’s just as free and just as easy to use.

This is an excellent alternative partition choice, have tried it and it works well. Great value
